Chicken Run

Bowden thought that this alcove where we stopped our walk to "rest" would be a good spot for some pictures. As you can see, Jack has discovered his tongue, and now has a hard time containing it.

Lucy wanted to take pictures too, but needed some help keeping the camera from falling.

I thought picture time should be over,

but Bowden wanted a few more shots. After this silly one of Lucy he wanted her to "pose pretty". He got upset when she continued to stick her tongue out, but was happy with the prettiness of the one below and said it was perfect.

Okay. Seriously. We're done.

Whack A Mole

Momzup is in California, and we couldn't have had better weather for our Santa Monica wandering. We had lunch at Yankee Doodle, went to Old Navy and Macy's, walked down the pier, and had dinner at The Elephant Bar. The only pictures I took, however, were of Whack A Mole.

The Four Richard Women

Jen's baby shower on the 9th gave us a chance to get together, eat delicious, tiny sandwiches, ooh and ahh over a mountain of gifts, and speculate about coming baby Miranda Ruth's looks and personality. I love her already.

Happy Birthday Kaitlin!!!!!

I really wanted to post that old picture from your youth group site, but finally decided against it : ) Hope you're having a great day!

I blame myself. I wore converse yesterday.

I tested out the dough hook attatchments for my hand mixer on Monday. It just kibbled the ingredients. I made cornmeal yeast bread from More With Less which didn't turn out as I expected. I either got carried away with kneading (it recommends ten minutes worth) or it was too cold in my apartment to rise properly. The soup Sarah made that night was really good, though.

Catching Crop Circle Culprits

It's about sixty degrees today...I have no idea how the ball field, which is in direct sunlight, is not slushy.

Almost Done!

January 23rd was Jen's birthday, and we headed to Musashi's in Porter Ranch for some fine teppan table eats.

It was pouring outside, so we dried out and warmed up at our table.

They really make you work for your birthday freebies here. It's not just the embarrassment of being sung to that is required. When in Tokyo right?

Bob told me that this was not a good look for me, so in retaliation, I've posted this:

When Irish Creamers Are Leaking

Today at work I made granola,

Rinsed the creamers that were stickified when two of the batch met their demise (gentle handling is pretty far down the priority list of our drivers),

and swam in the growing excitement of camp's new coffee maker. No more dumping hot water over a pile of grounds and calling it joe!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...

we took the youth group to Chino for laser tag (I'm in there somewhere, really). I've only been once before, and the LaserStar in Oxnard was definitely not as impressive as this place which had two levels, tons of hiding places and mirrors on some walls that were the same size and shape as the cut-outs so that you sometimes ran away from or shot yourself. We were a group of twenty eight, and I ranked between ninth and fifteenth during our four games. It was a fun outing for a rainy day, and I was glad that I went until we got stuck in the snow on the way back to Idyllwild. I drove my car which hates all things winter. Mistake. There were plenty of people to help navigate by bossing me around...so that was good. A man from our church, who just happens to be a snowplow driver, to pulled up behind us and ended up driving my car the rest of the way up the hill. God provides! It wasn't fun listening to all the kids lecturing me about why I need a four-wheel drive vehicle, but at least it was after I schooled some of them with lasers.
