Creedence Clearwater Revival-Have you ever seen the rain

Just needed to cleanse the palate after all of that nasty Everclear.

Go ahead, click on the picture and you will see the corner in my old neighborhood where Lakewood Drive and Lakewood Drive intersect. For years this display has been the source of much Frazier Park mocking and ridicule. I know I'm hard on the old neighborhood, but they just keep giving more and more ammunition. If you take one of the Lakewood Drives (in the direction that my Mom is pointing) down about five blocks, you'll come to the street in town called Lakewood Place.

There's a house right on the corner now- boy, would I hate giving directions.

"Who told you to put the balm on?!"

When Kramer snuck coffee into the movies and burned himself, he sought legal counsel from this man even though doing so was outrageous, egregious, and preposterous! So, who told him to put the balm on?

Christmasy.

Kringle, the super delicious Norwegian sweet bread- definitely Christmasy.

Stockings- reek of Christmas.

And then there's this.

Now, I'm no marketing major...

...but this could have a more simple name.

So, we totally played Trivial Pursuit - Young Players Edition

on Christmas (ages seven and up). My favorite question was from the Science and Technology category: How many years are there in a decade? (The runner up was: does bacon come from a cow, pig or sheep?) There were a few tricky questions about very eighties-type things like the Mr. T board game, but it didn't take long for us to polish this one off. Dave won; I was foiled again, just like back in the day.

Gladlig Lille Jul Aften

Here's hoping that the fjosnissen eats all of the porridge in your barn! (It makes sense to Norwegians, trust me.)

Sorry Jen,

I stole your picture again. Ethan makes the craziest faces, and has such good timing. This one just slays me.

We often refer to the summer of '96 as "the glory days",

and looking at this cast of characters, it's easy to see why. I'm not really sure about what's going on in the second shot, but Sarah was out of town, so we were probably just trying to keep Josh occupied so that he wouldn't hole up in the staff house and cry.

There is another interesting shot here on my desk, but I may need it for future blackmailings.

Seinfeld Trivia

In the Chinese Restaurant episode, the host repeatedly yells this name instead of "Seinfeld".

This is why I have never claimed the town.

On my last visit to Frazier Park I was compelled, upon seeing this, to make a sudden u-turn and park for some camera time at the mini-mart which stands less than a mile from my Mom's house. It was in this same parking lot that hung, years ago, a sign reading
"...[so and so's] Pizza
Had a peice lately?"

The pizza sign prompted me to call from work and clue them in to their error. A few days later it read : "Had a slice lately?" I guess I'll never know whether they decided that they should use a different word completely in order to avoid talk of the off color double entendre, or if they just really didn't know how to spell piece.

(Disclaimer: I am no stranger to careless misspellings. I just think that when dealing with plank and paint for marketing purposes, one should have a proofreader.)

Lasting Impression

Seinfeld Trivia

George is dating a pianist. When Jerry and Elaine attend one of her concerts, Jerry takes something out of his pocket and sets it on Elaine's lap, causing her to erupt in laughter. What is it?

Since I have kind of a city car, and I was too chicken to try to get it out of my steep driveway this morning, I had a very nice, peaceful walk to church this morning.

"It's been a while man,

life's so rad. I'm so glad we're all back together..."

Another piece of the Tate puzzle is now in place.

I have been to the Lake House! The whole family was incredibly hospitable and kind in allowing me to come along on this vacation. I had a wonderful stay.

Mas Philly

Yeah, we wore matching outfits at the conference, so what? It shows our solidarity.

The good folks of Camp Dixie took us out for lunch at Chili's. They are incredibly entertaining, and just all around lovely. Well, Lana is. The boys can get a little fiesty.

Our favorite "restaurant" though, was the concierge lounge on the twenty-third floor. I roomed with Lana, who is on the 3CA board, and she shared the perks that come along with that.

Random

This is just a little alcove on the street that we couldn't make much sense of, so we took the opportunity to give an impromptu lecture

Josh won our found money contest because he is willing to do anything.

Top Five

I took tons of blurry pictures at the fine art museum in Philadelphia; here are a few. My favorite thing about the museum was seeing works that I recogized from pictures, having said in the past: "yeah, like I'll ever go to Philadelphia!"

da-da-da-ta-da, da-ta-da-da-ta-da, da-ta-ta-da-da-da-da...

Don't worry, I'm almost done with vacation shots.

306 stamps later...

the staff books and calendars are out.
